Senior Cyber Software Engineer Technical Lead

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for experience in software engineering, with a strong interest in cybersecurity and high-assurance development.
• We need familiarity with a range of development tools and techniques, including IDEs, debuggers, source control, unit testing, mocking, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
• We are looking for knowledge of high-assurance development principles and an awareness of the importance of IT security for companies and governments.
• We need an intermediate to advanced understanding of computing principles, such as stack and heap distinctions and compiled versus interpreted languages.
• We need proficiency in at least one solution language, such as C++, Java, or C#, and one utility language, such as Python, JavaScript, Perl, or PowerShell.
• We are looking for the ability to use and configure more than one major operating system.
• We need the ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly.
• We need strong communication skills, including the ability to discuss technical topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• We value experience mentoring others and/or leading technical tasks.
• We require candidates to be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard and, for this role, successfully obtain eDV UK security clearance.
• Some roles may require 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency, depending on vetting level.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop, test, and document software to meet customer requirements and business and industry best practices.
• We deliver solutions using a range of development methodologies, while factoring operational security into system design, development, and testing.
• We work in teams to deliver high-assurance code and carry out constructive peer review and knowledge sharing with junior team members.
• We leverage continuous integration where appropriate.
• We embrace emerging technology, tools, and language trends while identifying the risks they may present.
• We identify flaws during solution design and implementation and recommend mitigations.
• We contribute to an Operational Cyber Group focused on high-assurance development, research, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research.
• We support mission-changing capability for national security customers across a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
