Senior Consultant, Software Development Engineer in Test

Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
• Strong coding skills in at least one of: Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience building or extending automation frameworks for API, web, or mobile testing
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, RestAssured, Appium, Cucumber, or Playwright
• Experience with source control such as Git
• Experience working in agile teams using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of microservice and container-based architectures
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities
• Knowledge of performance, security, or accessibility testing
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or container orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement modern test automation frameworks for APIs, microservices, and front-end applications
• Embed test automation in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
• Write maintainable, readable tests in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Collaborate with client and Deloitte teams to define the right approach to quality across projects
• Analyse failures, identify root causes, and improve test reliability
• Mentor others and contribute to Deloittes internal tools, accelerators, and communities of practice
• Work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to design, implement, and scale test automation
