SAP ABAP Developer

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced SAP professional with a strong background in ABAP development and supporting live SAP environments.
• Experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Experience with Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC.
• Experience in SAP application support.
• Experience in technical design and performance optimisation.
• Experience in debugging and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SAP enhancements, including User Exits, BAdIs and the Enhancement Framework.
• Experience supporting any of the following SAP modules would be advantageous: Warehouse Management (WM), Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), Supply Chain Logistics Execution (LE), Sales and Distribution (SD).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a varied workload.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an on-site team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain custom SAP ABAP solutions.
• Provide second and third-line SAP technical support.
• Create reports, interfaces, enhancements and forms.
• Debug and optimise existing ABAP developments.
• Support integrations with external systems, including EDI and Azure-hosted applications.
• Work with Business Analysts to deliver approved technical solutions.
• Support testing, deployments and change management activities.
• Produce technical documentation and follow development best practice.
• Contribute to SAP improvement and upgrade initiatives.

We are an established in-house IT team supporting a business-critical on-premises SAP environment that underpins warehouse, logistics and wider business operations across multiple UK locations. You will join a small, collaborative SAP team and work closely with the Senior SAP Engineer, with an approximate 60/40 split between ABAP development and technical support. This is an office-based role in Gosport, requiring attendance five days per week. We are continuing to invest in our technology landscape, and this role offers the opportunity to contribute to future SAP enhancement projects while making a real impact within a growing business. The salary for this role is £55,000 to £60,000.
