Robotics Software Engineer

Salary: £48,000 - 88,000 per year

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in an industry software design position
• A degree or masters in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Strong commercial experience with modern C++ (C++11–20) and Linux
• Experience with performance testing, profiling, and software optimisation
• Experience with databases, ideally PostgreSQL, and data-driven software systems
• Experience with robotics software development and integration; ROS2 experience is beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimise modern C++ software for robotic platforms, focusing on fleet control, data acquisition, and performance monitoring
• Develop real-time data pipelines to capture, aggregate, transfer, and analyse robotic system data
• Identify and integrate fleet management frameworks such as Open RMF to support autonomous robot scheduling
• Collaborate with robotics, vision, machine learning, mechanical, and electronics teams within an Agile development environment
• Test, debug, and validate software performance, reliability, and deployment readiness
