Remote Machine Learning Engineer / ML Engineer - Roleplay Sessions

Salary: £52,000 - 92,000 per year

Requirements:

• Ability to apply machine learning knowledge to solve real product problems
• At least seven years of software engineering experience, including at least two years at senior level
• Experience in a high-performing engineering team operating at scale, in a scale-up or established organization recognized for a strong engineering culture
• Strong alignment with commercial success
• Pragmatism, a bias toward action, and comfort with fast iteration
• Good understanding of machine learning and strong product-focused software development skills

Responsibilities:

• Build the AI engine behind Synthesia Roleplay Sessions
• Create models that listen to learners during roleplay, score their performance, generate helpful feedback in real time, and determine how AI avatars should respond
• Work across different products as part of an applied, product-focused machine learning role

This is a full-time employee role, based in-office or remotely in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, or Ireland; remote arrangements elsewhere in Europe may be possible subject to compliance and right-to-work checks. The salary starts at EUR/GBP/CHF 120,000 base plus RSUs, and employees receive 25 days of leave plus local holidays. We hire through our entities or EOR; contractor arrangements are not available. Our hiring process includes recruiter, delivery and impact, technical, and leadership interviews, and may be completed within two weeks.
