RAN Engineer

Salary: £104,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• 5 years Ericsson RAN experience
• Strong Ericsson BBU commissioning experience
• Experience deploying or integrating IRUs and/or Ericsson Radio Dots
• Good knowledge of LTE and 5G RAN
• Experience supporting ATP / acceptance testing
• Strong fault-finding and integration experience

Responsibilities:

• Support deployment and commissioning activities across the private 5G network
• Install and verify Ericsson BBUs and IRUs
• Inspect and validate existing Ericsson Radio Dots
• Verify grounding, power, cabling and GNSS synchronisation
• Carry out Day-0 / Day-1 commissioning activities
• Integrate the Network Controller with the RAN
• Register IRUs and Radio Dots
• Configure radios and validate operational status
• Support SIM onboarding and provisioning
• Perform throughput and latency testing
• Perform mobility and handover testing
• Perform redundancy and failover testing
• Carry out ATP / acceptance testing and defect closure
• Troubleshoot BBU, IRU, Radio Dot and radio integration issues

We are supporting a client with a major private 5G deployment within a large manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on deployment and commissioning role focused on installing, integrating, testing and stabilising an Ericsson Private 5G indoor RAN / Radio Dot System. The role is based in the West Midlands on an initial 4 to 6 month contract, with a possibility of further extension depending on experience.
