QA Test Infrastructure Engineer - Normanton

Salary: £38,000 - 67,500 per year

Requirements:

• Current DV Security Clearance
• Strong infrastructure knowledge combined with hands-on testing and assurance experience
• Networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs and firewalls
• Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting experience
• VMware and virtualised infrastructure experience
• Physical infrastructure experience, including routers, switches and cabling
• Terraform and Ansible experience
• Kubernetes experience
• AWS, Azure or GCP experience
• Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions experience
• Experience with automated infrastructure validation and environment readiness testing
• Knowledge of Secure-by-Design, IAM, OS hardening and network segmentation

Responsibilities:

• Create infrastructure-focused test strategies, plans and test cases
• Carry out functional, integration, regression, resilience and security testing
• Test and validate Infrastructure as Code deployments
• Validate physical, virtualised and cloud infrastructure
• Provision and verify test environments alongside DevSecOps teams
• Build infrastructure validation and readiness testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Identify defects, risks and infrastructure issues ahead of production
• Support security assurance, compliance and accreditation activities
• Maintain appropriate test evidence and traceability

We are working on complex Defence and National Security projects, taking responsibility for testing and validating infrastructure before deployment into highly secure production environments. We work alongside Infrastructure Engineers, Architects and DevSecOps specialists to assure infrastructure across physical, virtualised and cloud environments, ensuring it meets the required standards for functionality, resilience and security. This is a contract role in Somerset, offered at £600 per day outside IR35, with expenses available if you need to stay over to be on site five days per week.
