Platform Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with solid cloud infrastructure experience and a willingness to take ownership.
• We value hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with AWS and EKS is also relevant and can translate well into this role.
• We are not requiring a senior-level background.
• It is helpful, but not required, to have Azure certifications.
• It is helpful, but not required, to have experience in fintech or other regulated environments.
• We need someone who can work effectively without a lot of process around them.

Responsibilities:

• We are running and improving our Azure platform that underpins the wider business.
• We are building and maintaining infrastructure in Terraform as code and through reviewed changes.
• We are running workloads on Kubernetes, specifically AKS.
• We are owning and improving CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• We are working across a broad range of Azure services, including Azure Firewall, networking, identity, monitoring, and other services as the platform grows.
• We are making life easier for the engineering teams that use our platform, not just keeping the lights on.
• We are taking ownership of a broad remit across the platform rather than focusing on a narrow slice of the stack.

We are a 100-person fintech based in London, and we are growing our Platform team by adding a third engineer. Our team is small, and two engineers currently run the platform, alongside a wider dev team of 10. This is a 12-month FTC role based in London with three days a week onsite. The package is up to £75,000. Our core stack includes Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, and PowerShell, and this role is ideal for someone who wants to go deep on cloud infrastructure and own meaningful work across a broad platform.
