Job Description

Salary: £21,500 - 49,500 per year

Requirements:
  • We require proven experience of at least two years in a corporate environment across a broad range of AV technologies and their integration within an enterprise IT environment.
  • We require deep understanding of audio, video, lighting, and control systems, including codecs, signal routing, and matrix switching.
  • We require expertise in major video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams Townhall and Zoom, including advanced troubleshooting of video, audio, and content sharing issues.
  • We require understanding of SIP/H.323 protocols and cloud-based conferencing services.
  • We require expert-level knowledge of MTR deployment, configuration, management, and troubleshooting on Windows and Android.
  • We require deep understanding of MTR peripherals, including certified cameras, microphones, speakers, and touch panels.
  • We require proficiency in network optimisation for Teams, including QoS and media traffic requirements.
  • We require advanced knowledge of DSPs such as Biamp Tesira, QSC Q-SYS, and Shure IntelliMix.
  • We require expertise in microphone technologies, loudspeaker systems, amplification, acoustic principles, audio routing, mixing, and gain structure optimisation.
  • We require familiarity with Dante, AVB, and AES67 audio networking protocols.
  • We require expertise in projectors, interactive displays, LED walls, and commercial-grade LCD/OLED screens.
  • We require understanding of display calibration, resolution management, and video distribution technologies such as HDMI, DisplayPort, HDBaseT, SDVoE, and NDI.
  • We require advanced programming and troubleshooting skills for control platforms such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX, including the ability to diagnose and modify complex control code.
  • We require proficiency with enterprise-grade digital signage platforms and content management systems.
  • We require strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, QoS, DHCP, DNS, and network security principles.
  • We require proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems as they relate to AV endpoints.
  • We require experience with remote management and monitoring tools for AV devices.
  • We require proficiency with AV test equipment such as signal generators, audio analysers, and network sniffers.
  • We require excellent communication, active listening, and client-facing professionalism.
  • We require strong documentation skills, including SOP writing, and proficiency in using ticketing systems for incident, problem, and change management.
  • We require strong analytical thinking, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • We require a strong service orientation, patience, empathy, adherence to confidentiality, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
  • We provide Level 3 incident management and resolution for all AV equipment and systems across our London and regional facilities, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing audio, video, lighting, and control systems.
  • We conduct proactive health checks and preventative maintenance for critical AV infrastructure, including firmware management and software updates.
  • We support Microsoft Teams and Zoom, including setup, configuration, advanced troubleshooting, and training end-users on conferencing hardware and its integration.
  • We manage and maintain digital signage systems, including content creation, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
  • We contribute to small-scale AV projects, assisting with planning, execution, and coordination.
  • We manage all approved AV software licenses, including supplier liaison, renewal management, market comparison, and proposal development.
  • We participate in regional site visits, including overnight stays and travel, to support preventative maintenance checks and incident management.
  • We support service continuity planning and restoration efforts, including power downs, black building exercises, and other planned or unplanned business continuity activities.
  • We provide exceptional customer service, communicating complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • We document all technical issues, solutions, and procedures meticulously, including creating standard operating procedures.
  • We work effectively with other technicians and support staff, mentoring junior technicians as needed, and contributing to a shared knowledge base.
  • We comply with all health and safety regulations, including safe manual handling of equipment.
  • We apply a systematic approach to diagnosing complex, intermittent, and multi-system AV faults, performing root cause analysis, and implementing permanent fixes.
  • We coordinate effectively with manufacturers and third-party repair services for component-level troubleshooting and repair.
  • We manage vendors effectively through clear communication and negotiation with AV manufacturers and integrators.
  • We lead and manage complex technical projects, encompassing planning, execution, and delivery, considering timelines, risks, and dependencies.
  • We take full ownership of issues from inception to resolution, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
