Intelligence Analyst

Salary: £160,000 - 200,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in risk intelligence, trust and safety, crisis response, or risk analysis.
• Experience managing sensitive online content domains.
• 10 years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics.
• Experience explaining technical analysis to stakeholders.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Python, or R.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and investigate emerging trends, threat vectors, and behavioral patterns related to suicide, self-harm, and eating disorders across YouTube and the broader digital ecosystem.
• Monitor high-risk online phenomena, assessing how self-harm content morphs, evades automated detection, or propagates among vulnerable communities.
• Craft and communicate evidence-driven assessments and analysis to executive management and cross-functional stakeholders to support decision-making.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Trust and Safety, Youth, and product teams to translate behavioral and trend insights into actionable intelligence that drives safety mitigations and product updates.

Our Intelligence Desk identifies and investigates emerging threats, uncovers the root causes behind platform risks, and helps design effective, long-term mitigations. We synthesize quantitative and qualitative information to evaluate the broader impact and trade-offs of proposed solutions.
