Head of Engineering

Salary: £15,000 - 15,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an established engineering leader with experience leading software engineering teams at scale within a consultancy, technology services or professional services environment.
• We need a strong track record of building, mentoring and developing engineering leaders and high-performing teams.
• We need deep understanding of modern software engineering practices including cloud technologies, DevOps, automation and secure software delivery.
• We need experience delivering complex software solutions across multiple customers, programmes or business units.
• We need strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
• We need commercial awareness and experience supporting business growth through bids, proposals and customer engagement.
• We value a passion for innovation and interest in the opportunities presented by AI-enabled engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• We report to the Head of Application Modernisation and define and drive our engineering strategy while leading the continued growth of our engineering capability.
• We work closely with leaders across Architecture, Delivery, Testing, Data and AI, and Commercial teams.
• We build and lead a high-performing engineering community.
• We establish and embed engineering standards, governance and best practice.
• We champion modern software engineering, cloud-native development, DevOps and AI-assisted delivery.
• We drive quality, consistency and delivery excellence across client engagements.
• We develop future engineering leaders and strengthen capability across the business.
• We play a key role in strategic bids, client engagements and proposition development.
