Full Stack Developer (PHP/Python)

Salary: £65,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience with PHP.
• Proven experience integrating APIs and designing database-backed applications.
• Solid frontend development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub workflows.
• Experience working with Docker and Linux environments.
• Experience building secure, scalable production systems.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent commercial experience.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar, while maintaining strong engineering judgement and the ability to work independently.
• Desirable: Python and Flask development.
• Desirable: Experience with health-tech, AI, or data-intensive applications.
• Desirable: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Desirable: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Desirable: Experience working in high-growth technology businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based web applications and backend services.
• Build and optimise integrations with third-party APIs and healthcare systems.
• Develop secure and efficient solutions for AI-driven features and workflows.
• Design and maintain MySQL databases and supporting infrastructure.
• Build and improve responsive frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and product enhancements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise platform performance.
• Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing platform operations.
