Forward Deployed Software Engineer - UK Government

Salary: £54,000 - 94,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require 1+ years of relevant, post-college work experience.
• We value a strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or relevant experience.
• We require strong coding ability with proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
• We require the ability to travel 25–75%, depending on location and team.
• We require security clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.
• We value familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
• We value the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
• We value comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
• We value demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• We work closely with customers to understand their greatest pain points and design end-to-end solutions.
• We solicit constant feedback from customers and colleagues and iterate rapidly to improve our products.
• We deploy technical solutions to solve our customers hardest problems.
• We lead projects from high-level system design and prototyping through application development and data integration.
• We leverage Palantir products, open source technologies, and tools we and our teams build to drive impact.
• We own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects in small teams.
• Our work may include discussing architecture, wrangling massive-scale data, coding custom web apps, speaking with customer executives, and setting team strategy.
