Databricks Data Engineer

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Databricks experience
• Proven data ingestion experience
• Experience with Azure Data Factory
• Experience with Databricks Lakeflow
• Strong SQL and API integration experience
• Experience with Databricks Medallion Architecture
• Strong Python skills
• Experience with dbt
• Experience with incremental and batch data ingestion
• Immediate availability or ability to start within 1-2 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Databricks
• Connect to multiple data sources including SQL databases, APIs and Azure services
• Develop pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks Lakeflow
• Implement ingestion strategies including incremental and batch loads
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using Databricks Medallion Architecture
• Write and maintain Python data engineering code
• Use dbt for data transformation and modelling
• Ensure pipelines are scalable, reliable and maintainable

We are a large, global organisation hiring a Databricks Data Engineer / Data Ingestion Engineer for a 6-month contract on a hybrid/remote basis in the UK. The role is outside IR35 and offers the opportunity to work within a modern Azure and Databricks environment, focused on connecting data from multiple sources and building robust pipelines.
