Data Architecture & Governance Lead

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience in data architecture, data governance and data management
• Experience working with data governance tools and technologies
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data quality, data lineage and data management principles
• Experience working with senior stakeholders across technology, risk, compliance and business functions
• The ability to influence teams and embed strong data governance practices across an organisation
• Energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with stakeholders across the business
• Experience within the insurance or financial services is highly desired
• A Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute our Data Strategy and Data Governance Strategy
• Define and implement effective data architecture patterns, standards and principles
• Establish and embed data governance practices across the data team and wider organisation
• Work closely with senior management, IT, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Compliance and Risk
• Lead architectural and governance activities, supporting analysts and engineers in delivering high-quality data products
• Develop and maintain a data catalogue, including critical data elements, data flows and data lineage
• Support data quality, classification, ownership, integrity and interoperability
• Document data journeys across operational, analytical and integration layers
• Provide architecture and governance guidance across data-related projects
• Monitor emerging industry trends, regulatory requirements and best practice within the insurance sector
• Support the Head of Data in developing data maturity and confidence across the organisation

We are partnering with a global leading organisation within the insurance sector to appoint an experienced Data Architect & Governance Lead. This is a permanent role based in London, working hybrid with 2 days per week onsite, and offers a salary of £100,000 to £115,000 plus generous benefits.
