Crypto Trading Linux SRE Platform Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM subject from a recognised university
• Minimum 2 years of solid working experience in an infrastructure, DevOps, or Platform Engineer role
• Production experience in a global cloud environment
• Demonstrable AWS experience and strong networking experience in a multi-region and/or multi-cloud setup
• Strong Linux and TCP/IP network stack knowledge, including optimisation and tuning
• Solid scripting and development experience in one or more of the following: Bash, Python, Java, C#, Rust, Excel VBA
• Experience working in a stakeholder-facing role and communicating with senior stakeholders
• Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to support a platform during business hours and out of hours as part of a rota
• Nice to have: containerisation experience with Docker or Kubernetes in production
• Nice to have: monitoring tools experience in production, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk
• Nice to have: infrastructure as code tooling experience such as Terraform or Ansible

Responsibilities:

• Act as the go-to infrastructure subject matter expert for our globally distributed ethical web scraping function
• Support our multi-region high frequency crypto trading platform
• Work closely and collaboratively with our central infrastructure team to improve common infrastructure and standards across the estate
• Operate effectively in our global multi-cloud environment
• Initiate and manage relationships with providers, including evaluation and onboarding of new providers
• Improve internal processes in line with best-of-breed industry practices
• Use Linux and network stack expertise to support tuning, optimisation, and production support
• Provide support during business hours and out of hours as part of a rota
• Proactively reduce and design out manual support overhead
• Communicate strategically with senior stakeholders in the build and support of the platform
