Cloud FinOps Analyst

Salary: £47,000 - 86,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to develop and present analysis of client spend and make related recommendations.
• Passion for cloud technology and the ability to explain its value in both technical and financial terms.
• Persistence, tenacity, and the ability to navigate challenging business situations while identifying opportunities to drive value.
• Fundamental understanding of a cloud platform and its usage and cost dynamics; knowledge of Azure, Snowflake, Kubecost, and KQL is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse cloud infrastructure costs, identify trends, and provide insights and recommendations to optimize costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and track cost-saving strategies, including rightsizing instances, using reserved instances, and identifying other optimization opportunities.
• Track cloud resource usage, identify overutilization or waste, and implement measures to improve resource efficiency.
• Assist in developing and managing cloud infrastructure budgets, tracking actual costs against budgets, and providing regular reports to stakeholders.
• Generate timely and accurate financial reports on cloud costs, including cost allocation and chargeback, to support decision-making.
• Produce cloud usage and cost insights, implement governance and control measures, and help track optimization initiatives.
