AWS Cloud Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £41,000 - 74,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong commercial experience designing and developing cloud-native applications within AWS.
- Excellent knowledge of AWS services including S3, Lambda, EC2, ECS, SQS and Amazon Aurora.
- Expert-level Python development skills.
- Proven experience designing and building highly available, scalable and resilient software solutions.
- Strong experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
- Experience with Git, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD practices.
- Good understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and software testing best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL processes, both within and outside AWS.
- Experience working within Agile teams using Jira.
- Knowledge of Java and/or C++.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory (ADF).

- Design, develop and maintain scalable, real-time telematics applications using Python.
- Optimise applications for low latency and high throughput to efficiently process large-scale vehicle data.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS and Amazon Aurora.
- Build and deploy containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes, implementing serverless architectures where appropriate.
- Apply best practices for secure data transmission and storage, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor application health and performance using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray and other monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps and product teams to deliver solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions and Agile ceremonies to promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our talented team and help evolve our cloud architecture. This is a hybrid role based at our Exeter office, with two office days per week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will work on the development, modernisation and optimisation of high-performance systems, contributing to cloud-native applications that process large volumes of real-time telematics data.
