C# / WPF Software Engineer
Job Description

Requirements:- We require current SC or DV security clearance; applicants without existing clearance cannot be considered.
- We require strong commercial Windows application development experience.
- We require experience developing with C#, WPF/XAML, and WinForms.
- We require cross-platform development experience using .NET MAUI, Project Uno, or similar.
- We require experience with source control using Git, SVN, CVS, or similar.
- We require working knowledge of SQL databases, including MySQL, SQLite, or similar.
- We require an understanding of networking protocols, including HTTP, SNMP, and TFTP.
- We require experience with automated unit testing, requirements capture, problem analysis, technical documentation, and report writing.
- We require strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Desirable experience includes embedded C/C++, Python, Perl, PowerShell, web front-end development, network security, vulnerability analysis, static analysis tools, and unit test automation tools such as LDRA or Parasoft.
- Previous experience in Defence, Cyber Security, National Security, or another high-integrity environment is desirable.
- Analyse customer and system requirements and translate them into maintainable software designs.
- Develop Windows applications using C#, WPF/XAML, and WinForms.
- Contribute to software development, integration, and testing.
- Develop and implement automated unit tests.
- Participate in code reviews and produce technical documentation.
- Investigate and resolve software issues.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team while taking ownership of individual deliverables.

We are working with an established technology and engineering business in Derbyshire to appoint a Contract C# / WPF Windows Application Software Engineer. You will join an experienced engineering team working on complex products and systems in a high-integrity environment. The assignment is fully onsite in Derbyshire, with an initial contract of 6–12 months, a negotiable day rate depending on experience, and Outside IR35 status. Longer-term work may be available depending on project requirements and deliverables.
