IT Business Analyst

Salary: £28,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within an Agile software development environment
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience using analysis techniques to lead and facilitate stakeholder workshops and identify and prioritise requirements
• A formal qualification in IT Business Analysis or a similar technical degree is preferred
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, software architecture and technologies
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and rigorous problem-solving skills
• Understanding of basic scripting and database queries to learn about existing systems
• Ability to build strong working relationships, influence others, challenge effectively and respond constructively to challenge
• A team-oriented approach and the ability to inspire confidence and trust
• Experience in Financial Services or another regulated industry is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Use analysis techniques to lead and facilitate structured workshops with stakeholders and end users to identify and prioritise requirements
• Write clear, high-quality User Stories and provide the team with a vision for Product Backlog items
• Coach and guide less experienced analysts through mentoring sessions
• Support User Story estimates using the relative sizing scale adopted by the team
• Facilitate the definition of stakeholder requirements early in the Agile software development lifecycle and shape a balanced Product Backlog
• Create and deliver communications, presentations and visualisations, and represent the delivery team across projects and the wider department
• Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to share knowledge, explain complex ideas, provide updates, influence and challenge effectively, and respond to feedback
