Senior Software Architect

Salary: £40,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Solid experience developing applications in C# using Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
• Proven ability to break down complex market requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient system designs.
• Experience with multi-tenant cloud solutions and collaborative multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience creating maintainable code and using source control solutions such as DevOps, Git, or similar.
• Experience with unit testing, code reviews, and other product quality disciplines.
• Solid understanding of network security, authentication, and authorization principles.
• Experience working with databases using Entity Framework or similar.
• Good knowledge of SOLID principles.
• Experience creating RESTful APIs and ensuring API extensibility.
• Recent practical experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or equivalent in daily work, with the ability to discuss what worked, what did not, and why.
• Accountability for the architecture you own, regardless of the tools used to produce it.
• Comfort with probabilistic systems and sound judgment about when to use AI in a high-trust domain.
• Ability to learn a new AI tool or technique quickly.
• Preferred: Knowledge of security best practices, including the OWASP Top Ten; Azure SQL Server; DevOps, pipelines, TeamCity, or GitHub; and Windows services.
• Preferred: Experience using AI tools in an architect role, such as for design review, ADR drafting, threat modeling, or contract design.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-native software patterns, such as agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses, prompt-and-response evaluation, and evidence packets.

Responsibilities:

• Own the architecture and carry out design, AI-led implementation, and validation in cloud-based, multithreaded, multi-server environments.
• Work within our AI-led delivery method, setting intent, orchestrating implementation, and validating AI-drafted code, tests, and decisions.
• Lead architectural decisions using a collaborative, team-based approach.
• Ensure architecture addresses security, scalability, compatibility, maintainability, and responsible, evidenced use of AI at build time and run time.
• Test your work, fix defects, and help resolve customer support cases.
• Ensure the team follows architectural direction and standards.
• Mentor and coach team members in architecture practices, AI-led delivery techniques, and validating AI outputs.
• Liaise with Product Management during planning sessions.
