Principal AI Security Researcher

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• PhD or extensive commercial experience in AI security
• Direct experience developing and deploying technologies in the UK defence industry
• Experience in team management, project management, and setting strategic direction
• Sole UK nationality and 10 years of UK residency, required for high-level security clearance

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team studying AI security and advancing research and engineering approaches to real-world AI/ML security problems
• Work closely with partners in government, academia, and industry to strengthen the UKs capability and expertise in AI security
• Help set the teams strategic direction by identifying problems and challenges to address
• Provide technical leadership and take responsibility for the quality and integrity of the teams work

We work at the centre of AI research for the UK defence industry. In this role, you will help shape research and develop technologies with implications across AI security and the wider AI industry. We offer a collaborative team environment, though security considerations may limit collaboration outside the team. Our central London headquarters is the nominal work location, and our hybrid policy allows you to work in the office as little as one day per week.
