Software Engineer

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience in software development, including C# .NET and Angular
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Angular, and Microsoft .NET
• Significant SQL knowledge, including SQL writing and database design
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and iterative development
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Understanding of service-based technology approaches, including component, service-oriented, and event-driven architectures
• Experience developing solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
• Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• A commercial, results-driven approach, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with an organised and proactive approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and a positive attitude
• Interest in driving business improvements

Responsibilities:

• Work across the full development stack, including Angular, .NET, and SQL, as part of a Scrum team
• Collaborate with the team to design and deliver solutions to existing issues and develop new features
• Create and maintain unit tests; write clean, scalable, and efficient code
• Deliver development work according to agreed priorities and dates, taking business priorities, technical capability, and business and technology strategies into account
• Provide ad hoc support outside core hours
• Design and produce supporting documentation for IT to manage new components and processes
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot and debug systems, and upgrade existing systems
• Take part in Agile ceremonies, pair programming, and sprint reviews, including demonstrating work and sharing technical insights
• Contribute to continuous improvement by mentoring peers, sharing knowledge, and encouraging open feedback
