Senior Engineering Lead

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• 12+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years leading engineering teams in finance, fintech, or other regulated or audited domains.
• Deep experience with Tier 1 ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Financials, or NetSuite at enterprise scale, including at least one migration, consolidation, or major modernisation programme led on the engineering side.
• SOX or equivalent control-environment experience, with engineering practices that hold up to external audit.
• Architectural range across vendor configuration, custom extensions, integration middleware, and event-driven patterns.
• Ability to judge when to buy, when to build, and when to wrap.
• Stakeholder fluency at CFO level, with the ability to partner transparently with Finance Business Process leads and drive alignment.
• Pragmatic transformation mindset, with the ability to ship in increments while staying focused on the long-term destination.
• Nice-to-have experience taking a company through SOX readiness post-listing.
• Nice-to-have background in fintech, payments, or banking.
• Nice-to-have public point of view on AI in the finance back office.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the engineering team behind our Finance Systems estate, the platforms our Group Finance org uses to run our company financial operations.
• Set the architecture and multi-year roadmap for our ERP and surrounding finance platforms.
• Lead, hire, and grow a senior engineering team.
• Set the bar for engineering quality in a domain where correctness, auditability, and resilience are non-negotiable.
• Build the tooling, controls, and change-management practices that make SOX compliance a property of how we engineer.
• Drive deployment frequency, observability, incident response, and change control to a standard appropriate for systems the CFO signs off on.
• Co-own the roadmap with Finance and Product.
• Translate Group Finance priorities such as close acceleration, intercompany, AP/AR, statutory reporting, and others into a credible engineering plan.
• Drive efficiencies through AI-assisted finance operational tooling by deciding where automation pays off, where it does not, and helping us make the right tooling choice and integrations.
