Automotive Diagnostics & Feature Configuration Engineer

Salary: £52,000 - 83,200 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for 5–10 years of relevant automotive engineering experience.
• We need strong experience in automotive diagnostics and feature configuration.
• We need good working knowledge of ISO 14229 / UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).
• We need strong programming experience with Embedded C/C++.
• We need experience with QNX.
• We need hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
• We need experience using automotive development and diagnostic tools including Trace32, CANape, Vector tools, JIRA, and Git.
• We need strong software debugging and code-level root-cause analysis skills.
• We need familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies such as Fishbone Analysis and 8D.
• We need a good understanding of software configuration management and the software development lifecycle.
• We need strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• We develop, configure, integrate, and validate automotive diagnostic and feature-configuration software.
• We perform software issue triage, debugging, integration, and vehicle-level testing.
• We support diagnostic configuration, functionality, and SIMS triage activities.
• We investigate software defects and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
• We support corrective actions and resolution of software-related issues.
• We author and review software requirements using structured methodologies such as EARS.
• We work closely with cross-functional engineering and software teams in an Agile development environment.
• We maintain software configuration and change-management processes.
• We support software verification, validation, and release activities.

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Diagnostics & Feature Configuration Software Engineer to support the development, integration, validation, and troubleshooting of diagnostic and feature-configuration software for automotive platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automotive embedded software and diagnostic systems, and will be comfortable taking ownership of software issues from initial investigation through root-cause analysis, validation, and resolution. We offer a pay rate of £25.00-£40.00 per hour and benefits including life insurance, an on-site gym, on-site parking, and unlimited paid holidays. This is an in-person role in the United Kingdom.
