Data Engineer (SC Cleared)

Requirements:

• Active SC Security Clearance is essential for this contract.
• Strong Power BI experience, including in-depth expertise with datasets, semantic models, and data modelling.
• Experience working with SQL-based data sources.
• Power BI Copilot AI-assisted tooling experience is preferred.
• Government or Public Sector experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• We are looking for a Data Engineer to support a large-scale Government project on a 6-month rolling contract.
• We will work with Power BI models and reports to ensure they are well-structured and aligned to upstream curated data sources.
• We will analyse and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic models, and reports.
• We will ensure a clean separation between data processing and reporting.
• We will refactor Power BI models to consume curated and upstream data sources.
• We will ensure business logic is implemented upstream rather than embedded in reports.
• We will validate report behaviour, measures, and refresh processes following data model changes.

We are a leading global IT transformation team working on a large-scale Government project based in Leeds. This is a 6-month rolling contract with hybrid working, typically 3-4 days per week remote and 1-2 days per week on-site in Leeds, with an immediate start targeted for September 2026.
