Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer or Cloud Support Engineer with strong troubleshooting skills and a genuine passion for technology and customer service.
• We have proven experience supporting business-critical, cloud-hosted applications.
• We have strong customer service skills with the ability to act as a technical escalation point.
• We have excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
• We have the ability to prioritise workloads effectively and manage multiple tasks.
• We have experience supporting production environments within AWS and/or Azure.
• We have experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL databases.
• We have the ability to write and optimise complex database queries.
• We have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Desirable: knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ECS, RDS and CloudFront.
• Desirable: knowledge of Azure technologies including Virtual Machines, IIS, AKS and Azure SQL.
• Desirable: experience with cloud networking and infrastructure configuration.
• Desirable: familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Docker, Terraform, Bash, Packer and Ansible.
• Desirable: experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities:

• We provide third-line support for internally developed applications.
• We investigate and resolve complex incidents escalated from first and second-line support teams.
• We work closely with development teams to identify software defects and implement effective workarounds.
• We deploy application updates, patches, and hotfixes.
• We monitor cloud-hosted platforms to ensure compliance with service availability and performance commitments.
• We proactively manage alerts, event logs, and system monitoring tools.
• We lead technical investigations and recovery efforts during service disruptions.
• We drive improvements to platform resilience and reliability.
• We identify opportunities to enhance operational processes, tooling, and service delivery.
• We research industry best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• We support technical projects designed to improve platform performance, stability, and scalability.
• We contribute to knowledge development across the team.
• We create and maintain technical documentation.
• We share expertise and support colleagues across the wider global support function.

We are hiring an Application Support Engineer to join our UK-based team and play a key role in supporting mission-critical cloud-hosted applications used by customers worldwide. This is a temp role with a view to a permanent position, supporting cloud-hosted solutions across Azure and AWS environments. You will report to the UK Application Support Team Lead and work closely with Customer Support, Development, Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to ensure exceptional service delivery. This role requires flexibility to support extended operational hours, including shifts from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday, as part of a team rota. All our roles are UK based.
