Sr Software Engineer

Salary: £59,000 - 61,000 per year

Requirements:

• 7+ years of demonstrated experience designing and developing web applications and services using JavaScript or other relevant enterprise technologies (e.g., Java, .Net)
• 7+ years of demonstrated experience designing and developing complex web services using REST, TypeScript, JavaScript/NodeJS, Jest, Java, Python or related technologies
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience designing and developing web applications using HTML5, CSS and modern UI frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience with modern software development and testing methodologies such as Artifactory, GIT, and Jenkins CI
• Experience developing applications with AWS cloud technologies
• Intermediate-level experience with SQL
• Experience with various software development methodologies, such as Agile
• Familiarity leveraging AI in SDLC
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a non-technical audience
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively
• Demonstrated ability to understand complex concepts and to learn quickly
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a business-critical production environment
• Ability to work independently
• Ability and willingness to work in an energetic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• BS or BA degree in computer science, math, physics, statistics or another related subject
• Experience in a relevant financial domain is a plus

Responsibilities:

• We contribute to the delivery of high-quality investment research solutions, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment and support
• We work with business teams, engineers and business analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans
• We design prototypes and develop new software components based on functional specifications across the full stack, including services, web and mobile clients, infrastructure and back-end
• We work across various IT teams to coordinate and facilitate infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional projects
• We modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and optimize for performance and maintainability
• We provide technical guidance across initiatives to ensure capabilities are developed with latest methods and to the highest standards
• We implement AI-driven solutions to enhance workflows and optimize productivity
• We author architecture, technical design, and support documentation and ensure adherence to established code-quality standards
• We ensure stability of production systems by implementing tools for observability, data quality, and alerting, and by providing hands-on support during on-call rotations
