Job Description

Salary: £41,000 - 81,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Expert knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, including SAP Finance, SAP Concur, SAP Professional Services, SAP Treasury Platform, and SAP Financial Compliance Management
  • Understanding of SAP BTP and SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Good knowledge of Finance and Professional Services Engagement Management processes, such as Record to Report, Order to Cash, Acquire to Retire, Plan to Perform, and Engage to Staff
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate technology concepts to different audiences, from senior stakeholders to technical teams
  • Experience in Solution Architecture or equivalent technology roles
  • Good knowledge of enterprise architecture governance, including approval steps, conceptual and solution architecture, reviews, security assessments, and service acceptance criteria
  • Good understanding of technical debt, including its causes, how to measure it, and remedial actions, including decommissioning
  • Experience working with Agile SDLC methods
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture modelling tools, such as Alfabet or Aris
  • Understanding of common business analysis techniques and approaches
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience in a relevant, easy-to-consume, and compelling way
  • Strong general technical knowledge, including current, emerging, and future technology market trends and their impact on business
  • Good understanding of project management concepts, including Gantt charts, plans, risks, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to leverage networks within KPMG to access additional expertise when required
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity at the beginning of projects and able to provide clarity of direction
  • Desirable: good knowledge of Business Architecture, including business and technology strategies, operating models, process models, capability models, and taxonomies
  • Desirable: good knowledge and experience of modelling languages, such as UML, ArchiMate, and BPMN
  • Desirable: experience of leading offshore teams
  • Desirable: practical understanding of GDPR and ISO 27001
  • Desirable: qualification in ITIL and TOGAF

Responsibilities:
  • Develop our UK Firms technology strategy for Finance and Engagement Management and translate it into a roadmap that determines investment priorities and transformation portfolio
  • Promote a seamless, end-to-end customer and employee experience through efficient creation and modification of reusable technology components
  • Promote the use of modern, cloud-based technologies
  • Support typical Finance use cases
  • Challenge our business strategy based on emerging and future technology trends
  • Establish a catalogue that supports reuse of new technology components while targeting legacy applications and technology for decommissioning
  • Help execute and govern the strategy by supporting solution architects and projects to design solutions that are fit for purpose and conform to our standards and patterns
  • Maintain core knowledge of Finance and Engagement Management platforms, wider technology trends, and our technology ecosystem
  • Build Finance and Engagement Management roadmaps and solutions
  • Govern relevant technology choices within the Firm
  • Cover other business and/or technology domains as and when required
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge, including current, emerging, and future technology market trends and their impact on our business
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of our technology ecosystem, including the main applications and technologies that interact with Finance and Engagement Management technologies
  • Work with Capability CTOs, technical SMEs, and specific projects to analyse and translate business requirements into feasible technical requirements
  • Provide advice to, and/or learn from, other Member Firms, client teams, and/or clients implementing or improving their use of Finance and Engagement Management applications
  • Manage and maintain the application inventory for assigned domains
  • Work with stakeholders to assign application categories
  • Manage the roadmap for phasing applications in and out based on lifecycle dates
  • Consolidate and decommission redundant and duplicated application functionality for efficiency and cost savings
  • Build and maintain the Finance and Engagement Management technology roadmap and architecture for our assets
  • Ensure capability roadmaps are aligned to the Finance and Engagement Management strategy and coherent with other capability and technology domain roadmaps
  • Ensure application data is complete and up to date in our EA tooling
  • Ensure solution architects produce designs that are fit for purpose, adhere to relevant standards and patterns, leverage reusable components, and are coherent with wider technology domains
  • Contribute to the selection of specific Finance and Engagement Management technologies
  • Influence business and technology stakeholders to adopt the right technology solutions
  • Support the design and implementation of operating models that improve the design and delivery of successful Finance and Engagement Management deployments
  • Escalate risks, issues, and critical dependencies to the appropriate leaders to ensure successful delivery of the strategy
  • Help establish and participate in the technology assurance process
  • Build reference models and ensure that standards, patterns, and reusable components are enforced
  • Ensure that legacy technology is decommissioned to manage and reduce technical debt
  • Support the selection and implementation of enterprise architecture tools that accelerate and govern technology initiatives

The role of SAP S/4 HANA Finance Enterprise Architect is to help develop our UK Firms technology strategy for Finance and Engagement Management, translate it into a roadmap, and support execution and governance across the Firm. We work to promote a seamless end-to-end customer and employee experience, modern cloud-based technologies, reusable technology components, and the decommissioning of legacy applications. You will work closely with Capability CTOs, technical SMEs, solution architects, projects, and other stakeholders across our technology ecosystem. The position requires broad knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Cloud and related technologies, and includes responsibility for roadmap development, application portfolio management, architecture governance, and supporting enterprise architecture tooling.
