Java Developer for Trading (Securities Lending) - VP

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
• Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Extensive development experience
• Technical skills in Java, Kafka, SQL, and Git
• Experience in performing QA, TDD, and BDD practices
• Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Flexibility to work with a global team across geographies and time zones
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• React and full stack development skills are beneficial
• Knowledge of Prime Services is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Resolve a variety of high-impact problems and projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in application programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilise advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how business areas such as architecture and infrastructure integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as adviser or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Work with traders to build business solutions through agile delivery
• Collaborate with technologists across geographical locations and execute technical delivery
