Missile Test Lead Architect

Salary: £30,000 - 52,000 per year

Requirements:

• Substantial experience in test equipment design, product testability, or electrical/electronic engineering
• Proficiency in at least one of the following areas: digital electronics and microprocessor systems, analogue electronics, electronics testing, or test equipment design
• Experience in people leadership and influencing
• Strong understanding of requirements gathering, project oversight, planning, and managing relationships with key customers
• Security clearance eligibility as a British citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship, with willingness to undergo BPSS checks

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Test Architects as part of the Missile Design team
• Support the department head as a senior member of the TTA department and provide functional leadership
• Take ownership of missile test equipment specification and delivery
• Ensure product testability is built into the design
• Generate and manage compliance with lower-level test requirements for design teams, including test access needs, BIT coverage and timings, and factory test functionality
• Analyse and model our system to determine test coverage and generate diagnostic instructions
• Work closely with the Chief Design Engineer to make cost-versus-test-coverage trade-offs
• Specify missile-level pass-out tests, in-service tests, and BIT routines
• Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to ensure comprehensive product testability and address test coverage gaps efficiently
