Senior Software Developer

Salary: £68,000 - 108,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using Python
• Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Experience using REST Assured for API testing and automation
• Commercial experience working with AWS
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and modern software delivery
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience developing scalable, secure enterprise applications
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and code quality
• Experience mentoring developers and supporting technical delivery
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures
• Experience working within UK public sector environments
• Exposure to AI or Machine Learning technologies

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based applications and services
• Build secure RESTful APIs and integration solutions supporting enterprise platforms
• Develop cloud-native applications using AWS and modern engineering practices
• Work closely with DevOps engineers to deliver automated, reliable deployments
• Ensure high standards of software quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practice
• Design and implement microservices and event-driven solutions
• Support production systems, improving performance, resilience, and reliability
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across engineering teams
• Contribute to Agile planning, technical design, and solution delivery
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives
