Business Intelligence Data Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require proven hands-on expertise working with SEIs processes, tools, and compliance standards in delivering high-quality solutions.
• We require proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and workflows.
• We require strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory for data movement and transformation.
• We require proficiency with Apache Airflow, including orchestration, scheduling, DAGs, and error handling.
• We require 5+ years of experience in data engineering using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Airflow.
• We require a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Nice to have: data modeling and design experience.

Responsibilities:

• We work closely with client stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical specifications, and align deliverables with project goals.
• We participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings to ensure continuous communication and progress tracking.
• We design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Apache Airflow for scheduling and orchestration.
• We implement efficient data ingestion, transformation, and movement processes from various sources into Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• We develop reusable components and templates to accelerate delivery of data pipelines.
• We create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, stages, and file formats in Snowflake DW.
• We write complex SQL queries for data processing, validation, and reporting.
• We optimize data models, queries, and storage for performance and cost efficiency.
• We use GitLab for source code management, branching strategies, and version control.
• We support CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of data workflows.

We are hiring a Business Intelligence Data Engineer to support data delivery using Snowflake, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Azure. This role is part of our ADM - Emerging Technologies - IB team, and there may be a chance to travel to our client sites in the UK if required.
