Requirements:

• Relevant qualification and delivery experience in the role of Solution Architect.
• Demonstrable ability to work flexibly and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Desirable experience of higher education or a research-intensive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess functional and non-functional requirements.
• Produce high-level solution designs, including data flows and integrations.
• Produce low-level solution designs.
• Engage with the Technical Design Authority to understand assurance requirements and ensure designs are compliant.
• Work with the Enterprise Architect (Research) to develop the overall Research Administration Domain blueprint.
• Work with the Research Enablement Portfolio team to provide guidance on appropriate solutions.
• Support projects including Electronic Notebooks, Contracting Optimisation, One Research Facility, and Secure Research Environments.

We are offering a Solution Architect role based in Manchester on a hybrid basis for an initial 6-month duration. The rate is £675 a day, and the role is inside IR35, so you must use an umbrella company. The position reports via the Enterprise Architect and is functionally aligned to the Architecture and Analysis team. You will support the Research Enablement Portfolio team and contribute to projects across research administration, secure research, facilities, and contract management.
