Platform Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year
Requirements:- We need extensive experience operating at a senior technical level within complex IT environments.
- We need a strong track record of delivering cloud and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- We need deep expertise across Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, networking, identity, and hybrid cloud platforms.
- We need experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code technologies such as PowerShell, Azure Automation, Terraform or Bicep.
- We need confidence managing live service environments and resolving escalated incidents through root cause analysis.
- We need experience working closely with third-party suppliers.
- We need a strong understanding of change management, governance, risk, and service stability.
- We need cloud experience.
- We need a project-driven, proactive, and delivery-focused approach.
- We take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure services across Group IT.
- We deliver and support secure, resilient Azure and hybrid cloud solutions aligned to business needs.
- We act as hands-on technical specialists, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving infrastructure across its full lifecycle.
- We design, implement, and optimise Azure infrastructure so our cloud services are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with best practice.
- We contribute to Azure governance, security, and operational excellence through Infrastructure as Code, automation, monitoring, and proactive service improvement.
- We help develop and evolve our cloud strategy using our operational and project delivery experience.
- We serve as a 4th Line escalation point for complex issues.
- We drive root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements that enhance service reliability and efficiency.
