Requirements:

• We require SC Clearance.
• We need strong experience working as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Application Architect.
• We need hands-on Java development experience.
• We need strong knowledge of the Spring Framework.
• We need experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), authentication, and authorisation technologies.
• We need an understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles.
• We need experience designing secure, scalable backend solutions.
• We need containerisation experience with Docker.
• We need Kubernetes experience in enterprise environments.
• We need experience designing and supporting microservices and distributed systems.
• We need a strong understanding of integration patterns and API-based architectures.
• We need experience producing architecture artefacts and technical documentation.
• Desirable: experience within Government.
• Desirable: knowledge of secure access services.
• Desirable: experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Desirable: familiarity with cloud-native platforms and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• We produce architecture designs that meet both technical and business requirements.
• We translate business needs into practical and scalable technical solutions.
• We create architecture documentation, diagrams, and design packs.
• We collaborate with product owners, developers, testers, and platform teams.
• We ensure solutions comply with security standards, governance, and architectural principles.
• We support delivery teams throughout build, testing, deployment, and operational phases.
• We participate in design reviews and provide technical assurance.
• We identify technical risks and constraints and support mitigation activities.
• We communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are a well-known consultancy seeking an IASS Squad Architect to help shape technical solutions and guide delivery teams. This is an inside IR35 contract offering up to £626.50 per day, with two days on site in Telford and an initial six-month term. You will help deliver modern digital services that support millions of users, working closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and delivery partners in a security- and governance-focused environment.
