IT Auditor

Salary: £117,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require internal audit experience within a local authority.
• We require a Qualified Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) or equivalent Level 4 relevant qualification, with significant experience.
• We require an IT audit qualification such as CISA or QICA.
• We require an enhanced DBS check.
• We require local government experience.
• We require the ability to attend Winchester for day 1 induction and laptop collection.

Responsibilities:

• We direct and lead the delivery of internal audit reviews across a variety of partners and clients.
• We use a risk-based approach to review client risks and design audit programmes to evaluate and test internal control frameworks.
• We analyse findings and assess the impact on the risk environment.
• We form opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of control frameworks to provide assurance to senior managers, Chief Officers and Members.
• We negotiate required actions to address identified weaknesses and agree timescales and responsibilities.
• We undertake and supervise the audit certification of grant claims and ensure compliance with grant instructions.
• We contribute to the development of our audit practice by designing audit programmes and implementing new approaches to audit work.

We are Hampshire County Council, working within the Southern Internal Audit Partnership, delivering internal audit services across a wide portfolio of partners and clients including county, district and borough councils, police and crime commissioners, police constabularies and forces, and fire authorities. This is a remote position with an initial day 1 induction and laptop collection in Winchester, and the assignment runs to the end of December with a possible extension. We offer a daily rate of up to £500 depending on experience, and benefits include a canteen.
