Fire Engineering Director

Salary: £69,000 - 109,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for deep fire engineering expertise combined with commercial acumen and clear, empathetic leadership.
• We need experience leading multi-site or multidisciplinary fire engineering teams delivering complex portfolios.
• We value experience steering major design, assessment and compliance programmes in residential or mixed-use environments.
• We look for a track record of building and scaling commercial service lines, including pricing, bid leadership and contract negotiation.
• Experience implementing rigorous QA, governance and reporting frameworks in regulated contexts is important.
• Experience partnering with product and technology teams to embed digital tools and data into workflows would be beneficial.
• You must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

• We will expect you to set the strategic direction, technical standards and commercial performance of our Fire Engineering function.
• We will rely on you to lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of fire engineers, technicians and support colleagues.
• You will provide technical direction and final sign-off on complex designs, assessments and safety strategies.
• You will own key client relationships, shape proposals and presentations, and support major bids.
• You will oversee portfolio performance, including pipeline, utilisation, profitability and cash collection.
• You will strengthen governance through quality assurance, regulatory compliance, audits and continuous improvement.
• You will collaborate with our business units to productise services, enhance technology enablement and scale delivery.
• You will guide complex technical decisions, coach leaders and project teams, and manage risk, quality and compliance.
• You will help drive a high-performing, engaged team with strong succession and measurable development progress.
• You will support disciplined financial management, including accurate forecasting, healthy margins and cash performance.
