Job Description

Salary: £40,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We need experience of developing and configuring software and digital services in similar scale organisations.
  • We need experience of building, testing, and publishing web forms and content elements for internal and external use within case management systems and content management systems such as Jadu and Arcus.
  • We need over 3 years experience working in ICT and Digital.
  • We need experience working in fully agile teams, with an understanding of sprints, retrospectives, estimation, Kanban, and burndown charts.
  • We need awareness of the UK digital landscape, including GDS, local government, and other government organisations.
  • We need experience of working in local government and an understanding of the critical transactions that support public service delivery.
  • We need experience in building and maintaining system integrations such as APIs and webhooks.
  • We benefit from experience with Jadu products.
  • We need experience using a range of programming and configuration tools to deliver organisational outcomes.
  • We need the ability to analyse issues and problems and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • We need experience conducting user testing and research to identify issues with digital journeys and improve them cost-effectively.
  • We need experience configuring API integrations and understanding how they improve workflows, customer journeys, and user experience.
  • We need the ability to work effectively with matrix-managed project and programme teams.
  • We need familiarity with applicable standards, frameworks, and methods such as WCAG, Agile, SCRUM, and ISO 27001.
  • We need understanding of search engine optimisation, web analytics, and best practice for user journey development.
  • We need membership of relevant industry bodies, working groups, forums, or committees in the post holders area of work.
  • We need a commitment to equality and diversity.
  • We need understanding of health and safety legislation and good practice as it applies in the workplace.
Responsibilities:
  • We develop and configure user-centred digital services, particularly our content management system and associated integrations.
  • We ensure our website remains accessible, user-friendly, and functionally up to date.
  • We work closely with service teams and colleagues across the digital team to deliver website improvements, publish workflows, and third-party integrations such as SSO and APIs.
  • We help services understand and improve digital usage.
  • We contribute to form creation and testing and help inform future platform developments.
  • We improve service efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance user experience through intuitive and reliable digital solutions.
  • We contribute to testing, platform improvements, and innovation by sharing insight and development ideas across the digital team.
  • We configure and develop public-facing digital services with service areas and the ICT & Digital Team, meeting legal and technical standards including accessibility, information security, cyber security, GDPR, and open data.
  • We ensure new web services undergo full reviews, functional testing, and user testing, and that all services are documented to our standards.
  • We manage, log, and liaise with system operators and the ICT & Digital Team to resolve performance or availability issues.
  • We monitor the effectiveness of digital services and maintain on-premise or cloud systems used in customer service provision.
  • We design, build, test, and implement accessible online forms using Jadu XFP and Arcus forms.
  • We integrate forms with our case management system to improve user experience and Customer Services visibility of cases.
  • We connect back-office systems using APIs, integrations, webhooks, and similar methods to improve efficiency.
  • We collaborate with departments to gather requirements and automate tasks and workflows.
  • We maximise interactions with our digital platforms by improving internal workflows and external self-service offerings.
  • We review managed platform updates and user interaction issues and stay current with digital transformation trends to inform innovation.
  • We lead digital transformation work by rebuilding existing third-party sites within our Jadu Galaxy platform as micro-sites.
  • We support colleagues in learning how to maintain new sites.
  • We undertake training where required, cover for others in the Digital Team, and support junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
