Staff Analytics Engineer

Salary: £59,000 - 91,000 per year

Requirements:

• We want someone with 7+ years in a data role, such as Analytics Engineering and/or Data Science.
• We need strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets in dbt.
• We are looking for strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• We want hands-on experience with cloud technology such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and a modern cloud warehouse such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• We need fluency with modern BI tools such as Looker or Mode, and an understanding of what it takes to enable real self-serve analytics.
• We want experience with Python and/or R.
• We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, pragmatic, and has a no-task-too-small attitude.
• We require the right to work in one of our advertised hubs: the UK, US, or UAE.
• Nice to have: experience in a high-pace startup or scale-up environment.
• Nice to have: experience leading cross-functional projects with Finance, Engineering, or Product.

Responsibilities:

• We own dbt transformation by designing and building mission-critical models, standards, tests, and documentation that keep our data reliable and performant at scale.
• We pre-empt problems by producing dashboards, alerts, and tools that surface issues before they become incidents.
• We ensure self-serve data by building the knowledge layer, documentation, and quality checks so others can drive their own analysis.
• We use AI tools and agents across the modelling lifecycle, from accelerating dbt development to improving data quality, and help the rest of the team do the same.
• We tackle complex domain problems through high-priority special data projects.
• We champion data by peer-reviewing code, sharing best practice at weekly meetups, mentoring the team, and raising the bar for data best practice across the company.
