Solutions Engineer - Cloud & AI Infrastructure

Salary: £39,000 - 79,000 per year

Requirements:

• 3+ years of technical presales, solutions engineering, or relevant hands-on infrastructure experience across compute, storage, and data center networking.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization and platform modernization, such as VMware/VCF, RedHat OpenShift, Nutanix, KVM, or hypervisor migration strategies.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage concepts and platforms, such as NVMe, NFS, object storage, NetApp, Everpure, or comparable solutions.
• Solid understanding of data center networking fundamentals, including L2/L3, VXLAN/EVPN, and fabric design, and how compute, storage, and network integrate.
• Foundational understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure, including core concepts, deployment models, and how containerized workloads are managed.
• Proficiency with infrastructure automation and scripting, such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform, and version control tools like Git or GitHub.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver engaging workshops to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with the Cisco data center portfolio or comparable competitive platforms is preferred.
• Exposure to cloud-native networking and eBPF technologies, GitOps workflows, Helm, and service mesh is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-ready infrastructure, including GPU compute, high-performance fabrics, AI/ML reference architectures, and storage for AI workloads is preferred.
• Relevant industry certifications, such as CCNP/CCIE Data Center, VMware VCP, CKA/CKAD, or major cloud associate/professional certifications, are preferred.
• Familiarity with data center observability and monitoring tools is preferred.
• Understanding of infrastructure security and zero-trust principles in data center and cloud-native environments is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Help drive the adoption of Ciscos data center, cloud, and AI-ready infrastructure solutions across industries.
• Partner with customers to understand their modernization goals.
• Support the design of tailored platform architectures.
• Demonstrate how Ciscos compute, networking, and cloud-native technologies accelerate customer business outcomes.
• Translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and speak publicly when needed.
• Build awareness, foster education, and drive energy for platform modernization, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI-ready data centers with internal teams, partners, and customers.
• Act as the link between technical teams, account teams, and partners or customers.
• Showcase infrastructure solutions, articulate their value, and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Play a key role in the design and promotion of modernization solutions.
• Help solve customer challenges.
• Travel as needed for customer meetings and industry events.
