Software Engineer Python - Geospatial Technology

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for strong Python backend development skills; Ruby is also useful but not essential.
• We want a good knowledge of geospatial or image processing technology.
• We expect comfort using AI tools such as Claude in an everyday workflow.
• We value experience in a start-up or small business, with a willingness to work on Greenfield projects and take ownership.
• We are looking for a collaborative person with strong communication skills who is happy to take part in technical discussions and decision making.
• We require a degree in a STEM discipline.

Responsibilities:

• We design and develop Greenfield, data-centric applications that monitor Arctic ice flows and other data points.
• We work on Python backend services and take ownership of projects end-to-end.
• We develop new features and applications from ideation through to production.
• We combine machine learning with physics-based modelling to deliver actionable insights from satellite imagery and scientific data.
