Service Locator

Salary: £54,000 - 64,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience with electromagnetic location equipment and ground penetrating radar
• Solid understanding of industry standards including PAS 128 and TSA, with knowledge of HSG-47 and GS-6
• Proficiency in using surveying and utility detection equipment such as GPR, CAT, and Genny
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients on site
• A CSCS Card, or the ability to obtain one before starting
• Ideally QCF Level 3 or Level 5 certification in utility mapping
• Ability to meet security clearance and residency eligibility requirements for this role

Responsibilities:

• Use geophysical techniques to locate underground services and mark them accurately on the ground, defining type and depth
• Authorise and maintain Permit to Break Surface documentation in line with project procedures
• Provide teams with clear overviews of services within their work boundaries and advise on safe working methods
• Conduct site briefings using an 8-point checklist and enforce exclusion zones around affected services
• Liaise with the BOSC regarding discrepancies in records and ensure service drawings are kept up to date

We are KierBAM, a joint venture between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth Devonport Royal Dockyard. This is a full-time role based on site, with 42.5 hours per week and some flexibility available.
