Senior Software Engineer UI Infrastructure

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant software development experience
• Proficiency in modern C++ with the ability to debug and extend embedded or firmware codebases
• Strong Python experience for building developer tooling and data-processing workflows
• Experience building JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks or working on JavaScript virtual machines and runtimes
• Working knowledge of memory management, threading, concurrency, and debugging
• Experience improving CI pipelines, including validation and quality gates
• Familiarity with logging, telemetry concepts, and data quality improvements
• Ability to design pragmatic internal tools and APIs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross-team partnership
• Fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain, including coding harnesses, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks
• Experience shipping real work with AI coding tools

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain tools to improve the quality and consistency of Roku OS logging data
• Create Python-based automation to extract, analyze, and validate log usage across large codebases
• Develop offline pipelines for processing logs to support pre-merge validation and automated data contract generation
• Write and review C++ changes in embedded codebases to ensure accurate and reliable logging
• Collaborate with system architects to extend UI framework features and improve system stability and performance
• Use agentic coding to accelerate feature development and testing
• Partner with UI infrastructure, firmware, and CI teams to integrate tooling into developer workflows
• Troubleshoot issues across pipelines and instrumentation, balancing scalability with maintainability
• Develop tools that support the larger development community within Roku
