Salary: £46,000 - 86,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in C/C++/C# and experience building scalable feature sets in a large multithreaded codebase.
  • Experience developing for embedded platforms such as Embedded Linux, QNX, and hypervised environments.
  • Hands-on AAOS or AOSP development experience at the platform layer, including Android lifecycle integration and use of the Android compositing stack (SurfaceFlinger, HWComposer, Gralloc, EGL).
  • Experience developing against Vulkan and OpenGL ES for Real Time 3D and UI rendering.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing runtime performance, memory, startup/load time, and iteration speed on resource-constrained hardware using CPU/GPU/IO tooling.
  • Experience working directly with customers on technical issues, with business-level English.
  • Ability to become an established senior engineer who guides the team on large cross-platform initiatives.
  • English proficiency sufficient for professional verbal and written exchanges with colleagues and partners worldwide.
  • Experience working with or developing Real Time 3D game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or Godot.
  • Hands-on game development experience.
  • Experience developing for embedded and automotive SoCs such as Qualcomm SA8295/SA8775P, NXP i.MX8/i.MX95, or NVIDIA Jetson/DRIVE Orin.
  • Experience working on automotive HMI such as cluster, infotainment, ADAS, or map navigation.
Responsibilities:
  • Bring our Real Time 3D runtime to embedded platforms such as Embedded Linux, QNX, and Android Automotive OS by developing new features and integrations for industries like automotive HMI.
  • Integrate Unity into native Android apps, including via Unity Render Service, and build the graphics and windowing layer that powers multi-screen, multi-touch digital cockpits and HMIs.
  • Profile and optimize runtime performance, memory, startup/load time, and iteration speed of Unity for resource-constrained embedded SoCs across platforms.
  • Partner directly with customers like automotive OEMs as a technical point of contact, investigating issues, removing performance bottlenecks, and supporting production success.
  • Raise the engineering bar through design discussions, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Ramp up on an embedded platform, ship integrations and bug fixes, and contribute to customer-facing investigations.
  • Own a meaningful area of a platform and its performance on constrained embedded SoCs, while acting as a technical point of contact for a customer.
  • Guide team-wide initiatives with your experience and expertise.
  • Help define the technical bar across the team and shape how we support the next generation of software-defined vehicles.
