Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Significant experience developing commercial software products.
• Strong C#, C++ and/or C development skills.
• Experience leading complex technical work and influencing technical direction.
• Experience working on Windows-based applications and real-time control systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• A degree in Computing, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Advantageous experience in industrial automation or semiconductor equipment.
• Advantageous experience in hardware interfacing and control systems.
• Advantageous experience in cybersecurity and secure software development.
• Advantageous experience with AI/ML technologies or modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of software for our products and systems.
• Own complex software projects and technical challenges from concept through delivery.
• Develop high-quality software using technologies including C#, C++ and C.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Service, Product Management and Operations.
• Support customers and field service engineers in diagnosing and resolving challenging technical issues.
• Mentor software engineers and help establish team best practices.
• Review software designs and implementations to ensure quality, maintainability and security.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the long-term evolution of our software platforms.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring our software systems are robust, maintainable, secure and aligned with business objectives.
• Act as a key technical authority for customers and internal stakeholders while remaining actively involved in hands-on software development.
