Senior Security Analyst

Salary: £42,000 - 49,500 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Defender XDR
• Strong experience using Microsoft Sentinel
• Excellent KQL query writing and investigation skills
• Proven experience within a SOC or Security Operations environment
• Experience handling incidents from investigation through to remediation
• Knowledge of hybrid Microsoft environments, including Azure and on-premises
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
• Experience in a SOC covering regulated industries such as Financial Services, Government, or Critical National Infrastructure is desirable
• Vulnerability Management experience with Qualys is desirable
• Microsoft SC-200 or other recognised security certifications are desirable
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain SC and/or NPPV3 clearance

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and respond to complex cyber security incidents
• Threat hunt across Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel
• Use KQL to investigate alerts and identify root cause
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security Engineering teams
• Run proactive security activities, including vulnerability scanning and security validation
• Improve detection rules and strengthen the overall security posture

This is a genuinely hands-on senior security analyst role based in Leeds with hybrid working on shift: in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and working from home on Tuesday, Thursday, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
