Salary: £56,000 - 96,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require 6+ years of professional software development experience, including a first role within a product company such as SaaS, fintech, or marketplace.
  • We need deep proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with confidence in complex backend architectures, APIs, and data models.
  • We are looking for a product-first mindset, with curiosity about user needs and the ability to propose improvements and own features end to end.
  • We expect pragmatic architectural thinking, including experience with patterns such as Hexagonal Architecture for modularity and testing.
  • We value the ability to balance long-term scalability with fast iteration.
  • We are looking for someone who is comfortable using AI tools as an accelerating force while maintaining quality, integrity, and strategic oversight.
  • We expect stewardship over the full feature lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, observability, and monitoring.
  • We require fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities:
  • We partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to translate user needs into technical solutions.
  • We own features end to end, from first sketch through release and beyond.
  • We help maintain a fast delivery cadence while balancing speed, quality, and business impact.
  • We challenge ideas constructively and contribute strong, experience-backed opinions.
  • We use AI coding tools to accelerate delivery while keeping a human-in-the-loop approach for quality and strategy.
  • We share best practices with the team on prompt engineering, AI-assisted refactoring, and maintaining a high quality bar.
