Senior Backend Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend development experience using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS and knowledge of managing infrastructure as code, ideally with CDK.
• Ability to move seamlessly between frontend and backend development, with a passion for architectural decision-making and application design.
• Extensive knowledge of modern software development best practices.
• Enthusiasm for technology and a continuous learning mindset.
• Previous experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is highly desirable.
• Pragmatic approach and ability to prioritize areas that drive growth and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of our backend development, focusing on the core platform.
• Develop responsive, maintainable, and user-centric backend applications.
• Work on a greenfield project with significant impact and contribute to our rapid scaling over the next 1-2 years.
• Collaborate closely with our small, high-performing team in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Make architectural decisions and provide mentorship to junior team members.
• Drive the implementation of modern software development best practices.
