Security Engineer - Microsoft

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer with a strong background in implementing and improving security controls within enterprise environments.
• We would ideally like experience across several of the following: Security Engineering, Microsoft Azure security, Endpoint Protection, Identity & Access Management, Email Security, Vulnerability Management, Security monitoring and logging, Secure technical change.
• Experience with security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST or OWASP is desirable.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, Intune, cloud automation or DevSecOps would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and improve enterprise security controls.
• Support security across a predominantly Microsoft Azure environment.
• Review and optimise Microsoft security technologies.
• Identify security gaps and drive technical improvements.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation activities.
• Provide security engineering expertise on technical projects.
• Improve documentation, processes and security standards.
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure security is embedded throughout delivery.

We are a well-established UK organisation expanding our Security Engineering team following the launch of a long-term security improvement programme. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to help shape and strengthen enterprise security across a modern, cloud-first environment. We work in a broad Microsoft security stack and collaborate across Security Operations, Architecture, Infrastructure and Development teams. The role is based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working of 2 days per week and offers a salary of up to £70,000 plus an annual bonus, 35-hour working week, enhanced pension, private medical cover, healthcare cash plan, life assurance, holiday purchase scheme and excellent work-life balance.
